Peep "TV" Show follows the characters of Hasegawa and Moe from August 15th to September 11th, 2002. The voyeuristic Hasegawa found footage of the 9-11 events in New York strangely beautiful. Moe is a girl who has adopted the Gosloli (*Gothic Lolita) fashion and is on the verge of giving up on her dysfunctional life.

Moe empathizes with Hasegawa's voyeurism through which he attempts to discover the lives of other people and to keep in touch with his own reality, and they become partners in crime. Together they face the difficult challenge of recapturing their own reality. On their way they encounter fragmentary episodes in the lives of others. Like themselves they are victims, of this paper mache media world..... the socially withdrawn guy, the exhausted office worker, the health shop hostess, the bulimic woman..... the mundane battlefield of everyday life unfolds.

The awkward communication and mutual soul-searching between Hasegawa and Moe offers a ray of hope to viewers of the same generation.

* (Gothic Lolita) The almost doll-like fashion favored by the fans of rock bands and by people who long to be considered aesthetic, is known as Gothic Lolita.

+ Actors Play Themselves +
Shiori, who plays the leading role of Moe, was in reality previously diagnosed with BPD (borderline personality disorder). In real life, the socially withdrawn young man actually did not step out of his room for 5 years.....
The characters in the film reflect the actors who play them, bringing a heightened reality to the piece.

+ Documentary-Style Camerawork +
Other than the pivotal dialogue, the actors were encouraged to adlib while the camera rolled. Through this method, the conflict of the characters, falling between fiction and documentary, is intensified.

+ The Unique Visual Expressivity of Compact Video Cameras +
The use of ultra compact CCD cameras including the protagonist Hasegawa's pin hole camera, with which he captures his voyeuristic images, creates a unique visual landscape which can only be achieved through video.

+ Multilayered Visuals +
The voyeuristic images of the hero, Hasegawa, are broadcast in real time over the internet, images of people viewing these broadcasts on the internet; the surveillance camera shots of the town; all these images construct a multi-layered visual tapestry, which realistically expresses the chaos of a media- driven society.
