Mobile Mac Users Japan Expo'99 Report (Part 1)

Great success of shooting PB2400 photos

Before inauguration of MMUJ, shooting PB2400 photos event, which was held in collaboration with Extremely Private PB2400c Page, mobile-dog.com, and Mobile Mac Users Japan, gathered over two hundred PB2400 users and created feverish atmosphere.

• We located the event place on the wide area at the corner of EXPO booths, but it was not enough space to receive near three hundred numbers of people that was more than we expected. The MMUJ staffs, who were leading the people, lost their heads.
• Mr. Nakamura, who is our cameraman from MMUJ, shot a snap of the users who were holding their PB2400. Mr. Nakamura said, "I was really excited at taking their photo which is filled with feverish feeling."

• We noticed that we were not allowed to take a group shot here, then we changed the place to an open space in the front of the 8th booth.
• Two hundred two PB2400s were lined up on the floor after 30 minutes preparation. We could succeeded in taking a group shot.

• Mr. Tanaka, a member of MMUJ, took a QTVR. It was excellent.

• We think that we showed PB2400 user's power to all users and venders both in Japan and in the U.S. (Mr. Jason O'Grady attended.)
• This success is due to existence of the members of MMUJ who assisted, organized, and led the people in the background.
• It was lucky we could take the group shot without any troubles. However, we have to think about the numbers of attendees next time, because organizing the large number of people is one troublesome.

Mobile Mac Users Japan Estblishment Event! EXPO Appeal sounded all over EXPO hall.

• After over 200 PB2400 users gathering at the corner EXPO Hall Makuhari, Establishment Event was hold besides the corner (before moving to outside of hall) Adopting " Mobile Mac Users Japan EXPO'99 Appeal "which I gave you taht day . The voice [We want light PowerBook !!!!] of nearly 30 MMUJ menbers + other audience sounded all over the Makuhari hall !!!!
• The Establishment Event of Mobile Mac Users Japan was hold besides the crowds of over 200 PB2400 users gathering at the corner of Makuhari hall . Many audience gathered with thinking "What events going on?" Our i-President Daisuke Wakamatsu declared the Establishment of Mobile Mac Users Japan like Abraham Lincoln at Gettysberg in 1863.

I am i-President of Mobile Mac Users Japan ,MMUJ ,which pursue the them of 
Excellent know-how of mobile computing .

'Why MMUJ was established ?" You can see our "MMUJ EXPO Appeal"
 I would like to say "what aim MMUJ pursue ?" 
We want to appeal "How eagerly we want Light & Small PowerBook "
all over the world though WWW . 

I go to office by train as most Japanese do. Recently I see very often 
women having SONY/VAIO-C1(lightest model with CCD camera)
or POKET-BOARD(very small e-mail colorful equipments )
This means that ,in near future ,everyone has light PC like moboile-phone
today.

"The  market is not to rob but to creat yourself (?)" this is the words 
mentioned by famous i-CEO . But  In Japan  the market seems to rob 
already . When I see those who are using mobile equipment like VAIO or
Pocket-Borad ,I want to say "Hey there are much better item " but 
now I have to continue like "---in the near future"

When the Light Mobile Macintosh is shipped ,We want to appeal the 
excellent ability  all over PC users . Becoming the most ecellent 
User Group about Mobile Macintosh .

• And then Adoptin of MMUJ EXPO Appeal.
  All menbers agree with the adopting EXPO Appeal At this moment we distributed the printed MMUJ EXPO apeal paper to audience (I gave it you ) the reaction was very friendly "I support you ! " "This appeal shows my dissatisfaction about apple computer" "I want to join you !" and so on . At same time ,we distribute the Expo appeal in English about 20sheets . I feel we crossed over the boarder .
• Finally we get elated,facing to Apple (a little bit risky ,because security stuff coming to stop us ,so we have to do quickly) 30-MMUJ menbers & friendly audience shouted together ,

"How do you think PowerBook G3 ?"
"Too heavy !!!!"
"How do you think SONY-VAIO?"
"MacOS cannot run!!"
"What do you want really ?"
"A light-weght PowerBook!!"

• We shouted with good team work .Our voice reached to Apple booth certainly , but we could not konw that our voice reached to heart of Apple stuff. we would like to continue to watch the Apple doing .
• After this establishment event ,we joined with PB2400 shooting outside of Hall .
• And then we shot MMUJ menbers Photo .

• MMUJ menbers are living all over the Japan .So in photo ,there are 30 menbers but we are 153 menbers now .
