Born in 1961 in Tokyo, Japan, Shiki Nagashima studied the guitar with Akinori Minami, Ernest Bitetti, Josˇ Luis Gonzarez, Josˇ Luis Rodrigo, David Russel, and Haruo Kusaka. From 1979 to 1989 he studied at the Royal Conservatory of Madrid under the direction of Jorge Arisa. He received first prize of the graduation competition in the conservatory. He won prizes in the F. T‡rrega competition in 1987, the Ramirez competition in 1987 and he taught at "El Escorial Matiz" Conservatory for one and a half years. He has joined in recording the following CDs ; "Guitar master pieces" vol.1 (Gendai Guitar / GGBD2001), "Liebeslied" (Super Nova / SNCD0081), and also participated in the arrangement of the music score "Christmas songs for guitar" vol.2 (Gendai Guitar / GG136), and three volumes of "Guitar Solo Pieces" (Shinko Music Pub.Co.) .
