I have a pair of pedigree dogs and am considering doing one mating.
The male is 18 months and the female is 6 months old.
I do not intend to breed the female when she first goes on heat.
Is there a way to prevent them mating without physical separation or surgery?
Is there a dog 'pill'?

I have a 3 year old, long-haired St. Bernard
that seems to have an eye irritation of some sort.
Sometimes, especially when he wakes up from a long sleep, it remains closed.
I wipe it with warm water and then it's ok for a bit, but he still favors it.
I did notice a tiny bit of redness on the outer, upper lid, but very little swelling.
He does try to scratch it....especially when we're walking.
I'm wondering if I should flush with saline solution and monitor his condition
or should I take him to a vet.

hi, my friend wants to get a dog that doesn't shed,
but the only dog they can think of is a teacup poodle..
but she doesn't want a teacup poodle.
the ages of the childen are 12,14,15.

I have a 3 yr. old Border Collie that has been having medical problems.
She has been taken to a Veterinary Training University in my state.
After a few $$ and lots of tests they came up with nothing...Sigh...
Now just in the past 2 weeks she has began with different symptoms
and they want to do MORE blood tests.
They are thinking it may be something very, very way out there and unusual in dogs.
It is called MYASTHENIA GRAVIS. It is found within humans but in dogs?
I've just finished reading up on the medical info
and now I'm reaching out to any one out there
who may be able to interject as to whether they've heard of it in dogs
and what's the prognosis?

We took her to the vet for a check up and he said that she has cataracts.
