It's hot. The air conditioner doesn't work properly because the number of audience are over the capability of this hall. However, no one complains about that. All the people are enchanted by the exciting performances in the very front of them.
In the nearly pitch-dark hall, a woman is singing on the stage at the same level of audience's seats. Her voice is like a limpid scream and seems to stimulate one's inner sense rather than real ears. Numberless scales -- such as the high tone which easily reaches into the midst of one's brain and the low tone which expresses each single vibration of a valve of her vocal chords -- are combined and give various expressions -- joy, sorrow, and sometimes absense of expression.
