Well, first of all, we'd like to explain a little bit about this facility for those who want to enjoy the world of 'Angkor Wat.'
Angkor Wat is one of the temples in the Angkor area, in Cambodia. Bayon or Banteay Srei are other famous temples in that area which were built by Cambodian kings. You may wonder how such a small country could build those fascinating architectures, but Cambodia used to be a gread kingdom which ruled over whole Indochina.
In 889, the king Yasovarman the 1st built the new city in the Angkor area. Angkor Wat was built by Suryavarman the 2nd who appears in the relief of Angkor Wat.

Later Jayavarman the 7th, a serious Buddhist, built the big city Angkor Thom near the Angkor Wat. The great temples like Bayon or Baphuon are in that ancient city.
In the 15th century, Cambodian kingdom was losing its power and Angkor was abondoned by the rulers. Angkor Wat survived as the sacred symbol for the local people and pilgrims arrived even from Japan.
In the 19th century, a French explorer published a report on Angkor Wat and it gathered huge attentions in the Western world. Since then, Angkor Wat has been attracting tourists from all over the world.
