1859`1930, British author and crusader for spiritualism, famous as the creator of Sherlock Holmes.


Doyle believed in fairies like this ... !?

Although he was a doctor, he became famous for his novels which he wrote in his meantime.
Not only Sherlock Holmes series, he wrote many historic and SF novels. He served as a civilian doctor in the Boer War and he was titled in 1902.
Later, he became a devout spiritualist and made a great effort to defend and spread it. It is said that he had received a personal message from his son killed in the first world war, and this incident made him convert to spiritualism. When photos of fairies were shot in Cottingley in 1920, he immediately believes its genuineness.
Conan Doyle was a descendant of celt as well as Yeats and Blake. His celtic blood may have made him believe in spirits and fairies.
